Description

THE SUB-SAHARAN SUPERFRUIT

Baobab is a wild harvested, raw, superfood bursting with antioxidants and naturally rich in fiber, vitamin C, minerals, alkaline, and electrolytes. Harvesting creates sustainable income for women in southern Africa, and encourages protection of the ancient trees.

With Bonga (gratitude) we honor the tree of life, and our friends in Africa harvesting the baobab fruit.

ETHICAL CONSUMERISM

After the death of her husband, Patuma Msyenda was left to bring up five children alone. Life changed for the better when she began gathering fruit from the local baobab trees and selling it to TreeCrops.

She made enough money to start a small kiosk in her village and build a house, and she no longer has to depend on anyone else to take care of her or her children.

“I am a home owner and a businesswoman with big plans!”

SUPPORTED BY PHYTOTRADE

PhytoTrade Africa was established to alleviate poverty and protect biodiversity in the region by developing an industry that is not only economically successful, but also ethical and sustainable.
