The Department of Mechanical & Biomedical Engineering at Boise State's College of Engineering prepares students for the rewards and challenges of a career in the multi-faceted field of mechanical and biomedical engineering. The curriculum was carefully developed with input from engineering professionals to provide a sound foundation in basic engineering while enabling students to specialize in diverse topics such as machine design, thermal systems, robotics, materials science and product and systems design.

Sometimes the problems with integrating more sustainable energy is not a technical problem. The cost of producing wind energy in the U.S. has dropped dramatically in recent years but one problem remains: how to get that power into households. A report in Bloomberg says that one big sticking point is eminent domain laws that don't encompass interstate electricity-distribution lines, making the power hard to move. And while prices to produce wind energy have lowered, they could shrink even further if the U.S. taxes carbon, argues the report.
