Pivot Point International was founded by Mr Leo Passage in 1962 in Chicago Illinois. Leo Passage created a beauty family that now spans the globe teaching and mentoring millions of cosmetologists. Pivot Point education now reaches 83 countries in 13 languages, teaching 50,000 students annually worldwide.

Our story is told in the success of thousands and thousands of cosmetologists who learned to see, think, create and adapt with Pivot Point.
We believe in the importance of WHY as well as HOW something works to engender the freedom to create. Pivot Point delivers this freedom through cutting-edge technology in education. Our systems for cosmetology education are continually updated, upgraded and innovated to enable Pivot Point learners everywhere to embark on their own journeys of lifelong learning. Inspired by the Bauhaus School, Pivot Point continues to follow the principle of training craftspeople to elevate their skills to new heights of artistic creativity.
Our common language is one of art and design - Form, Color, Direction, Texture, Repetition, Alternation, Progression, Contrast, Discord, Balance, Symmetry and Asymmetry. All serve a purpose: to consciously create and compose a hair design that suits and pleases the salon client.
While we mourn the fact that our dear Leo Passage has left us, his guiding spirit remains with us today - and will endure tomorrow - as Pivot Point continues to grow and embrace his vision.
