The Assumption College Primary Section originated from Assumption College, which was founded in 1877 by Rev. Father Emile Colombet and is the first school of Saint Gabriel’s Foundation of Thailand.Nearly on its 50th year, the Assumption College Primary Section students continued to increase significantly, therefore its expansion and development in all aspects such as curriculums, programs, management and infrastructure continue to accommodate the growing population.Since 2002, Assumption College Primary Section is running two programs: the “Thai Program” and the “English Program” . Thai program strictly follows the teaching and learning curriculum as prescribed by the Thai Ministry of Education. The English Program, on the other hand, offers an education that balance the Thai curriculum, Thai language and culture with the opportunity to develop a strong knowledge of English language and western culture by learning with qualified teachers from abroad.HistoryAssumption College Primary Section, which is originally called “Assumption College”, officially opened its door for its first day of teaching on 23rd May 1966 with 27 teachers and 997 students from Prathoms 1-4 only. The first building is Martin de Tours building and was blessed by Bishop Joseph Khiamsun Nittiyo with Momluang Pin Malakul, a minister from Ministry Education, presided the opening ceremony. Prathoms 5-6 were later moved in this complex between 1973 and 1978.In 1997, the school’s name was officially changed into Assumption College Primary Section under the supervision of Bro. Surasit Sukchai, as authorized by then the Chancellor of both the Secondary and Primary education, Bro. Wiriya Chanthawarodom. Then from 1992, Bro. Loechai Lawasutre, the current Chancellor at Assumption College at that time, developed teaching and learning that include Chinese language to be taught at the school for the first time starting with Prathom 5 and 6 by Chinese Native Speaker.
