From the people behind Underscore magazine, The U Press and projects such as Hermes: The Gift of Time, comes the exciting experimental platform that is The U Factory. Modelled on Andy Warhol's Factory concept from the 1960s which brought together the world's very best in creative individuals, The U Factory will be in operation at Gillman Barracks from November 2013 to January 2014.

For the first time in Singapore, creative consultancy HJGHER will bring together as a community an eclectic mix of trail-blazers from the fields of art, film, music, food, design and culture. Over a period of three months they will please and intrigue the public with a series of exhibitions, events, workshops, parties and 'happenings’. The U Factory will also be a curated marketplace for Factory ''residents' to retail their products. Besides inspiring constantly curious urban city dwellers, participants are also encouraged to use their residency as a conducive collaborative workspace for creation of innovative bodies of work.

The U Factory is dedicated to championing and celebrating independent craft, to generating and producing new ideas and satisfying the need for experimentation and collaboration. Potential residents are invited to be part of this innovative movement, to push their own envelopes and realize their creative vision. Interested parties can email info@theufactory.com.
