Creative director, Suzana, is on a mission to keep Portuguese arts and crafts alive, which is why she collaborates with national artisans. Her collections feature exuberant pieces which highlight artisan work and the Portuguese DNA, high-quality design.
The designer travelled all over the country and gathered different artisans, women from different cities and villages from North to South of Portugal. With them built the Luizas brand. She felt a lot of difficulties when she came across the land without an embroiderer and already with a certain age... "it was very difficult to find women working in these arts ..."
The brand wants young communities to be drawn to this tradition and to make it different and have a taste for hand-made work and value it. "I want to create support and shake Town Councils so that they can create incentives for young women. We can not let these beautiful works end in our country... "
