The place really look Historic, Good music and ambiance.. the taste of food is average and the price is cheap.
This is a historic place. If you enjoy places with a lot of history, this is a place to bring your visitors to. It can be humid at certain times, but I think it's okay as long as you set your expectations. It is a turn of the century barn that has been preserved. Along with the building's history, the inside is filled with antiques. Vintage cookware and tableware were used as decor for the main dining area. Old portraits and photographs adorn the walls. It definitely gives off a vibe of being part of the growth of this city. They also serve Armando's pizza, notably the sisig pizza and one flavored with salted eggs, the 2 most popular "unique" local-flavor pizzas you will ever find.
The ambiance would really send you back in time and their original pizza recipes are must try! Would be back
I really appreciate the atmosphere and their delicious foods.
My friend and I went here to stay for dinner. The food was delicious! I'm not a fan of thin-crust pizzas but still, the experience was great. Nostalgic ambiance, great smoothies, and their pianist and guitarist play well.
First time I tried sisig pizza and it's delicious. I love the salted egg pizza too!
I love their thin crust pizza and their pasta really rocks!
The place has retained its historic image but it looks too messy for me. Some foreigners said it looks like a classic european resto but needs a lot of improvements. Foods served are inconsistent when it comes to quality and taste. One lady staff is sarcastic and never gave me a damn cheerful smile, those kind of people need to be put in a cage and hidden in a cave. Customer service must be instilled to the staffs. The place is not difficult yet not easy to find as the resto does not have a catchy signage along the road. Probably putting on a huge LED tv with the ad will do the job.
The place looks creepy. The sisig is not sizzling and full of fat bits instead of meat. Doys Capangpangan pizza is so dry the crust crambles, really dissapointed.
The historical Camalig! Always been our favourite hang out place to have affordable and quality pizza! Try their Doy's Capampangan Pizza with salted egg as toppings!
Went here for a dinner date with my wife on July 2016. Staff are courteous and mostly attentive, but food was meh. Prices were cheap , but the food was underwhelming. The atmosphere was nice but somehow creepy since it was an old wooden room with large windows with low lighting and no other customers at that time.
Their special pizza was something you could make at home with jolly mushrooms, tomato paste, supermarket cheese (P60 under) cheap salami, green bellpepper and hotdogs. Crab soup was Knorr's crab & corn, and nothing, not even any garnishing veggies added. For sisig, you can get better options, Pampanga-style sisig at a Fresh Options meat store, any available branch I guess.
There was no entertainment since it was only us 2 inside the restaurant at that time I guess.
There are open air dining tables set outside where students and other patrons seem to come for beers and pulutan, so i think these are their regular customers
