The Panauti Bus Park is the main bus terminal in the town. It is located on the Namobuddha Road, just south of the old town center. The bus park is a busy place, with buses coming and going throughout the day. Panauti is known for its well-preserved temples, narrow streets, and vibrant atmosphere. The town is a popular destination for day trips and weekend getaways from Kathmandu.
Bus: Public buses from Kathmandu to Panauti depart from the Ratna Park Bus Stand or the New Baneshwor area. The journey takes about 1.5-2 hours, depending on traffic.

Easy access bus park to go to different areas in Nepal. I got dropped off here when I came from Dhulikhel area. It can be a bit confusing, which is why use Google Maps to navigate to the tourist areas (Heritage buildings) to see where you need to go.

As usually in any bus park in Nepal just ask around the bus driver or assistant as to where you want to go.

Very crowded and unmanaged. It might seem chaotic at a glance but talking with people around will make it eaiser for you to get your bus for the destination you have.

Bus departs to various village areas in Kavre area, also direct bus to Kathmandu valley is also available here. Although there might be more people in a bus than expected.

The ancient town of Panauti located 33 km south-east of Kathmandu and 6 km south of Banepa carries huge religious and historical significance. The town proposed as a UNESCO world heritage site is full of ancients temples, indigenous tradition and cultural heritage. I t is a popular destination not only for foreigners but also for the local tourists. Houses constructed in medieval deigns, holy pilgrimage sites, artistic temples and important religious sites add to the attraction of this ancients town. The famous Makar Festival takes place at Panauti's Triveni, a confluence of three rivers. every 12 years. Millions of devotees from different parts of the country throng Panauti during the festival. Likewise, the annual Panauti Festival is also very popular among Nepali people.

Traditionally Panauti is regarded as a town protected by the Nagas or serpents. Therefore, locals of Panauti never use mortars to grind the grains, unlike in other parts of the country, to avoid injuring the serpents.

There is a traditional belief that the Basuki Naga, the overlord of all serpents, was born in Panauti thousands of years ago and was later transfereed to Patan by Tantriks. The residents believe that Basuki Naga returns to Panauti during the Panauti festival that is celebrated for four to eight days. People believe the Naga King comes and returns in the form of thunderstrom that never fails to fall during the festivals. The town dominated by the Newar community is also associated with various myths and folklores. The town is believe to be situated an top of a single block of rock and thus protected from earthquake. Local elders claim the town was unscathed during the earthquake of 1933 AD when most part of the country was flattened to the grounds. The town provides ample facilities for accommodation and its is possible to hike from Panauti to various beautiful sites including Da[cha, Khopasi, Dhulikhel, Namobuddha, Balthali and Lakuri Bhanjyang. Buses to Panauti leave every 5 minutes from Kathmandu's old bus park.

The service here is very low. Almost all of the drivers and conductor seems money minded. They were not willing to let a group of students to get on their bus.
