MPN is a non-profit oriented non-governmental organization of microbiologist and has been working for health, environment and research.
MPN has been voluntarily doing health awareness programs and trainings to school children, including an orphanage home "Community Child Rescue Centre (CCRC)". It has been volunteering in health camps organized by BESDEC Nepal inside jails of Nepal. Moreover, MPN is actively participating in cleaning campaign of Bagmati river for environmental sector. Besides these, many deworming programs as well as awareness on HIV/AIDS and drug abuse has also been conducting in collaboration with other organizations.

BACKGROUND:
Micro Point Nepal is a non-profit oriented, non-governmental organization established by highly enthusiastic, dynamic and dedicated; social service and research oriented microbiologists in 2011 and has been working for health, environment and research. With the main objective to dedicate for the better health and environment, this group primarily aims to conduct and support researches in the field of health and environment; quality build up programs for conducting scientific researches; social awareness programs in health and environment.
ACTIVITIES:
MPN has organized many programs solely and in collaboration with other organizations since its year of establishment. Its primary area being health, environment and research, it had organized “Anti-worm Program” in collaboration with National Friend Circle for Health and Education ( NFCFHE) and with medicinal support of Times Pharmaceuticals in December, 2011 in an orphanage home Community Child Rescue Center (CCRC). CCRC has been taking care of 23 rescued children and this program benefited them not only through anti-worm medicine (albendazole) but also the general knowledge regarding personal hygiene to stay safe from common worms.
All members of this organization had actively volunteered and promoted a leprosy awareness as well as food and cloth distribution campaign at leprosy rehabilitation center, Khokana Lalitpur, for physically deformed leprosy victims, organized by Nepal Leprosy Rehabilitation Association (NELRA) in an auspicious occasion of 59th World Leprosy Day on Magh 15, 2068.
MPN has been voluntary doing health awareness programs and trainings to school children, including CCRC. It had organized “Drug Addiction Awareness School And college Programs” in collaboration with Buddhist Education and Social Development Centre(BESDEC), Nepal for school children of Xenium National Academy, Imadol-5, Lalitpur on 27th June 2012 for Supporting the establishment of School Library and Science Lab In Shree Bhanldhunga Uchcha Madhyamik Vidhyalaya, a school located in rural area of Dharan, Sunsari district. The organization was volunteering BESDEC from its book collection stage to the complete library/science lab set up program in the school during June-July 2012.
It has been volunteering in health and eye camps organized by BESDEC, Nepal inside the jails of Nepal including Nakkhu Jail and Central Jail , Sundhara, Kathmandu, Nepal. It also collaborated in Mental and General Health camp in Dhulikhel Jail, Dhulikhel, Kavre organized by BESDEC, Nepal in Bhadra 28th 2070.On the same day, MPN reached CCRC to celebrate National Childrens’ Day to encourage the children for better future. MPN has been connected both socially and emotionally with CCRC participating and volunteering in each and every program now and then from celebrating Children’s day each year, volunteering in refreshment tour and excursions of CCRC, involvement in CCRC family picnics to “One-Day Ownership Program” of CCRC; Food support program by LIONS CLUB; “Get Involved Be Inspired Event” on 19th October 2013 and almost all others. In recognition of all these untiring important contributions, MPN and its members had been appreciated form CCRC in presence of H.E Mr. W.M. Senevirathana, The Ambassador,Embassy of the Democratic Socialist Republica of Sri-Lanka And Venerable Sumeadh, The President of CCRC on 4th May 2013.
Members of this organization had actively participated as a member of organizing committee in ‘International Conference in Infectious Disease and Nano Medicine’ (ICIDN 2012) held in 2012 December, in Kathmandu (Hotel Park Village Resort).
MPN had organized Hepatitis Awareness program with a rally beginning from Shanti Baatika, Ratnapark to Basantapur Durbar Square and had held a Talk program from experts regarding Hepatitis Awareness along with Blood donation program on the occasion of World Hepatitis Day in July 28, 2013. The organization had encouraged young minds of CCRC to make display cards for rally. More than 1,000 national and international people participated in this campaign proving it to be a great success. For the first time, MPN represented Nepal for its participation in “Guinness world Record Event” for the most people performing “See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil” organized by World Hepatitisb alliance (UK) with partnership of World Health Organization(WHO). MPN had contributed seven different groups of national and international people doing the actions throughout the day.
MPN was awarded a Certificate Of Participation In Guinness World Record Event:The Most People Performing, "See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil"in 24 hours at 41 venues across the globe, on 28th July 2013. There were 26,204 Participants in total.
The organization was involved in different programs organized by Government of Nepal and other organizations such as first National Science Day 2013, International Youth Day-2013 etc.
This year MPN celebrated whole July month as Hepatitis Awareness Month. Understanding the fact that celebrating a single day as World Hepatitis Day has no real significance from awareness point of view, MPN organised various awareness camps in rehabilitation centres, in public places, in schools and colleged and in Community Child Rescue Centre. This year too, we had encouraged children of CCRC to prepare their own playcards for the rally. The children were very much excited and they even drew sweet pictures of happy liver.
On the World Hepatitis Day, 28th July 2014, Micro Point Nepal had organised the Awareness Rally and a Talk Program on issues related to hepatitis. Community Child Rescue Centre(CCRC), Liver Foundation Nepal, Bir Hospital Liver Unit, The Liver Clinic, Rotary Club of Bhadgaon, Himalayan Academy School, Nightingale Nursing College, Gurukul Public School, Centre for Molecular Dynamics Nepal(CMDN), Intrepid Nepal Pvt. Ltd.(INPL), Intrepid Cancer Diagnostics(ICD) Family and Numbers of general public including patients and recovered mates joined the rally.
Moreover, MPN is actively participating in ‘Bagmati cleaning campaign’ every Saturday for environmental sector and it has been contributing The Nation and Its People with many more social welfare activities.
VISION:
A prosperous Nepal is a vision of MPN through good health, environment and capitalization of microbial diversity in our country. This organization aims at upgrading health status through awareness and research in microbial infection, research on quality antibiotic production and use of medicinal plants for antimicrobial therapy and quality upgrading of other microbial products (Brewery and Dairy).
Collaboration with different concerned sectors in above regards is necessary to attain its aim.
