Lovely place to visit. Not so far from cities like Dharan and Itahari. Beautiful Saptakoshi river green mountain and beautiful temple just near by the river. I enjoyed a lot visiting this place twice with my friends and wife. Boat services also available for water lovers but I haven't tried it myself yet though.

Lord Vishnu, by taking the incarnation of Varaha or Baraha protected the earth from being submerged into Patala (underworld) with his long tusk. Then the Lord sat with his wife Laxmi at the bank of Koshi River and the lap of Himalayas and hills. So, the place bore its name after that event.
