Amaltar Bhagawati Shrine is dedicated to goddess Kali (a fierce form of goddess Parvati). This temple is approximately 25-30 meters above the Araniko Highway. A recently built small stair case leads to the temple. The temple is located on a small cliff with a little open area. One can find small stone like structures ( many believe it's shaligram sheela) that represents the goddess. There are also other stone like structure which represents Mahadev, Bangalamukhi, Ganesh and Naag. A fascinating thing about this temple is that just behind the main stone ( that represents the goddess) one can see a small tigers den. Many believe that a tiger lived long before in that den.
Peaceful place and gives great view of the river.
