False & Malicious Letter
The University of Namibia wishes to distance itself from a false and malicious unsigned letter dated 12 February 2018 under the heading “First Semester Marks of 2017” which is being circulated widely on social media.
The said letter addressed to senior students falsely alleges that senior students’ marks have been lost on the system and is purported to have been authored by the Dean of Students, Ms Magreth Mainga.
...In our view, the letter serves to tarnish the good name of the University and all relevant authorities will be engaged to get to the bottom of this very unfortunate communiqué.
In the meantime, UNAM wishes to assure all its students and stakeholders that there is nothing wrong with our databases and student marks are not compromised in any way or form.

Access to the student portal and printing of the proof of registration for registered students, that have made the required payment, will be available after registration.
Prospective students that may not be in possession of a printed admission letter, but their application status on the University website indicates provisionally admitted, are encouraged to come for registration, between 29 January – 02 February 2018.
Also, prospective students that have applied and application status on the University website indicates declined (based on August 2017 school report), application incomplete or pending, and now have improved end year results, are encouraged to come during the late registration period, to enquire on available spaces on various Faculties.
Admission statuses for late applications will be communicated from 07 to 09 February 2018.
