This is a very peaceful and tranquil experience. There are no words to describe the Giants play ground. No photos can do it justice. The people are friendly and the food is good. A great visit.
The most expensive campsite we stayed at in Namibia and just for the site it's definitely not worth it. The tent sites are really basic and the feel like the place is made for making money with as many tourists as possible instead of quality. Sure the price includes a cheetah feeding which you have to pay even though you are not interested and the quiver trees you see in other places aswell but not that many.
The campsite itself is nothing special for the crazy price they charge, there are no picnic tables, just a big rock to use as a table, the light is far from this rock, so we still had to use our own light, the bathrooms are a bit run down.
At 225 per person, this is the most we paid in all of Namibia (except for Etosha), I mean even more expensive than Fish River and Sossusvlei, I find that ridiculous. The price includes the forest entry and a cheetah feeding, which I didn’t even want to watch since I enjoyed seeing them in the wild much more.
These guys need to reconsider their pricing or give the campsite an upgrade.
Unwelcoming host (no campsite map and no invoice given), a guidance system is missing (would also be helpful at the Quiver Tree Forest itself) The campsites are very close to the road and the entrance of the quiver tree forest, therefore not as peaceful as other campsites in Namibia. Even after the official closing time, busses arrived with visitors late at night. At 40°C, we would have appreciated more shade. Plus: Each campsite is equipped with table, braai, tap.
Slightly more expensive than other places, but comes with entrance to the giants playground and the novelty of pet warthogs and rescued cheetah that you can watch them feed. They also have a sweet pool, free wifi, and some great clean bathrooms and campsites with water and power hookups. Yes you can find cheaper places to go, but this places is wonderful and has everything you could want. And the owners are cool too.
Love love love did i say LOVE this place!!!
Lovely stop over while traveling.
Only access to quiver tree forest at. R250 for three people! Most exspensive sightseeing I did as South African in Namibia. Guy st reception was not very friendly either. Being exspensive and unfriendly I gave it a.skip and took nice pictures of quiver trees oppisite his "forest"
Nice place. Spacious and well equiped campsites.
Quiver tree forest can be accessed from the camp. Giant's play ground near by.
Ablution blocks abundant and clean. Firewood a bit expensive.
It can get very cold here at night (we were there last week of may).
This is a strange lodge. The lady of the house runs around barefoot and everywhere are signs of what guests are not allowed to do and then finally at the end of the rules and regulations comes the welcome to the lodge sentence. The warthog carrying it's bowl around is sweet and the quiver tree forest is very nice. I however did not like staying here.
Only camped here but I can say that this particular spot is quite interesting. If anything, visit for the famous cheetah feeding or to tickle the belly of a warthog or just to have a gander at any of their other exotic pets.
Amazing hospitality and food! Will go back again for sure!
Nice Camp with private sites. Great to go and walk amoung the Quiver Trees at Sunset! Lots of bird life including Rosy-Faced Lovebirds.
Quivertree forest has quite a number of these trees. For Giants Playground, exit premises and turn left for about 5 kilometers.
