The Poly was established by Act 33 / 1994 of the Namibian Parliament. The institution was recently given approval by Cabinet to change its name to the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST). The institution has six Schools/Faculties and 10 Centres of Excellence.
The institution has grown from 2466 students in 1996 to approximately 13000 this year.

Mavis Elias, an alumna of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, in the Faculty of Engineering at NUST, received the Queen's Young Leaders Award today. The award is given in recognition of leadership skills by young persons between the ages of 18 and 29. We are so proud of you Mavis!!!
The first semester exam results will be available on the Student Kiosk at 4pm, this coming Friday 29 June! Good luck everybody!
