Dr Alpo Mauno Mbamba Junior Secondary School is situated in Kavango region, located in the west of Rundu town Center about 1 and half kilometers. It is easily located since it lies beside the highly way to Sauyemwa as you stand by Engine Fueling Station.

Dr Alpo was officially launched on the 1st of January 2000. Before it was known as Tutungeni Junior Secondary School later by 2003 it was then changed to Dr Alpo Mauno Mbamba Junior Secondary School. Dr Alpo is one of the most junior schools in the region that accommodates a large number of learners. Currently now it has got about 717 learners in total as from grade 8 to grade 10, 25 stuff.

Though the school has more learners the stuff is trying its best to produce good learners academically and even in extra mural activities. So far the school has a strong, active and energetic cultural group known as “The vultures of Mbamba”. The school also has a Choir known as “The Mighty Jordan”.
