COSDEC is supported by the Community Skills Development Foundation (COSDEF). COSDEC provides vocational training to out of school youth, unemployed and low skilled adults.The Centre also has a Business Development Support Centre which provides different support services to SMEs.

Walvis Bay SMEs received training on basic business planning and business management. COSDEC Swakopmund provided the training to 13 SMEs in Walvis Bay on the 31st May 2018. We would like to extend our gratitude to the Municipality of Walvis Bay Community and Economic Development Department for making this training possible.

COSDEC Swakopmund provided outreach training on Basic Clothing Production to inmates at the Walvis Bay Correctional Facility. Photos were taken at the certificate hand over ceremony. COSDEC Swakopmund and COSDEF Arts and Crafts Centre staff and trainees went out to clean the streets in Mondesa. The team picked up liter in the areas close to the taxi rank, the Mondesa Shell Service station and Usave supermarket. This were all efforts for the National Cleaning Campaign that will be taking place on the 25th May 2018. We would like to thank everyone who participated in the cleaning campaign.
The Chief Community Liaison Officer for the Ministry of Gender Equality and Child Welfare, Ms Maria Titus gave a presentation to the trainees on Gender based violence. Her presentation focused on Domestic Violence and Sexual Harassment.
Kindly take note that the Centre will be closed as from the 9th April 2018 for the Centre Mid year break. We will be open again on the 16th April 2018.
