INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND OF THE COLLEGE

Alpha Key College is a wholly Namibian first, of its kind, private education of higher learning institution with its Vision of being the most leading institution of leaders who are the master keys of leading the public and private businesses in Namibia and beyond, and with its Mission of producing qualified, knowledgeable and skilled graduates to meet the needs of both public and private sectors and who are able to open the doors which are hindering us from achieving our development agendas at local and international level. The college is known through its Motto: Centre of Active Students.

ACHIEVEMENT

The college has so far awarded 11 full bursaries to the Namibian youth in IT Short Courses such as Computer Technician (A+), Network Technician (N+), System Administration, SISCO CCNA 1-6 and IT Security for year 2016/7 which was officially announced on the 12th September 2016 by the chairman of National Youth Council of Namibia Mr. Mandela Kapere at the Katutura Multi-Purpose Youth Centre in Windhoek, Namibia. The total bursary amount in those five courses which will run for 6 months was N$ 124,570.00.

  AKC SIGNED AGREEMENTS FOR STUDENT INTERNSHIP

  Alpha Key College (AKC) signed a 2 year Agreement (MoU) with Wiseman Anyala Holdings Group (Pty) Ltd., and Super Stationary Namibia today, 20 July 2018 in Windhoek, Namibia: to offer Internship to AKC Students who are pursuing their careers in Business Management, students are required to complete a six months internship program with the Host Organisations before completing their study at AKC.

  The Internship will primarily consist ...of the Student undertaking a Diploma (Level 6) and Postgraduate Diploma (Level 7), and participate in or observe the day-to-day activities at the Host Organisations.

  The Internship is coordinated under the College’s Faculty of Business and Commerce Internship Scheme.

  The aims of the Internship are to:

  · Give the Student the opportunity to gain an insight into the operation of the Student’s field of study and develop an understanding of the issues central to the Student’s profession;

  · Enable the Student to gain insight into the functions and operations of a professional workplace and participate in the day-to-day activities of the organisation; and

  · Enable the Student to put their research and writing skills into practice by doing a research project designated by, and of practical relevance to, the Host Organisations.

  AKC would like to thank the above mentioned organizations for this collaboration of giving hands-on skills to our students. Furthermore, we are encouraging other organizations from public and private sectors; to offer internship opportunities to students for them to gain market experience.

  Unemployment is not a joke and we must not promote it. Henceforth, students or graduates must not wait from the government to provide jobs for them instead of studying with the aim of creating job opportunities for themselves and others.

  WHO ARE WE?

  Alpha Key College (AKC) is a new higher education institution in Windhoek, Namibia. We intend to gradually launch branch campuses in the various regions of the country where there is need for our specialist, market-oriented, and entrepreneurial services within a foreseeable future. AKC focuses on practical teaching approaches and applied research. These approaches ensure that AKC products are sufficiently innovative and entrepreneurial the moment they graduate.

  Fu...rthermore, these approaches go a long way in equipping graduates with practical exposure and approach to meeting the society’s needs, thereby making significant contribution to the country’s development in all sectors.

  The college entry requirements ensure that a wide range of prospective students from different educational backgrounds gain admission to programmes of their choice and for which they are suitably qualified. We also provide bridging courses that will enable students to meet the minimum entry requirements to tertiary institutions.
