Ridiculously expensive for the rafting, $95 USD -- an increase of almost 50% since last year. The tour is lovely, scenic, and relaxing.
Never been rafting before but been here to swim a couple times and it's great.
Great river for swimming
It has a lot of sense and things to do I would like to shear
Unplug and take a bamboo boat ride. Captain Loyd was a total professional. He knew everyone on the river and it was a tremendous way to spend a couple of hours. Make sure and stop for lunch at Miss Belinda's. One of the best meals I've ever had.
Captain Albert Bates, A.K.A., Dooks, A.K.A. Ms. Bates, was the best. He took such good care of us.
See you next time.
The Rio Grande is the best River in Jamaica to go rafting down. I have gone down all the other river rafting locations in Ja. The water is clean crystal clear and approximately 78 degrees the day we went down.
There are numerous locations for you to go swimming that are very deep. There are rocks to jump off of. You could probably swim over 60% of the river. If you like swimming in clean fresh warm water it does not get any better than the Rio Grande.
Half way down there is an excellent restaurant which offers the meals pictured for a very reasonable cost. Colbert's are also available at a very reasonable cost.
I would recommend starting rafting from the very top. Enjoy.
