COACHES CLINIC: JAN 25, 2018 SPOTTING CLINIC:

Ohayoo Gosaimasu Mina. (Good Morning Everyone) A few weeks ago we held a review session of the thought process and essential techniques needed for an all too important aspect of our daily coaching practice - spotting lead by Kingston gym's director Coach Hall. Skills covered were: Round Off, Backhandspring, Back Tuck, Back Layout, and Front Tuck.

    ...

This time, in addition to the usual physical techniques, the clinic had a focus on discussions surrounding different aspects of spotting a coach needed to take into consideration:

    - Saftey Precautions when spotting athletes

    - A review of approaches to varying spotting situations and gymnast body types

    - The importance of a future-focused methodology when spotting.
