Wow, this place is great! Entertainment staff were great and very friendly. Food was very good. They are going to be renovating all the rooms in the fall of 2018. I will definetly be going back.

First time in Jamaica. This all-inclusive resort was beautiful. I liked the swim-up bar in one of two pools. Sadly, there is no bathroom close by the pool, I noticed that the people spending half the afternoon there NEVER got out to relieve themselves. The food was good in the specialty restaurants but the buffet was awful. I didn't gain a pound there. Some of the rooms in the back are along a road, vehicle noise in the early morning and night is aggravating. The excursions are pricey. It was a nice vacation but I wouldn't go back.

    "GREAT RESORT"
I have been to Jamaica numerous times and this place was my favorite. It was a little smaller than some of the other resorts I have visited in Jamaica but that's one of the things I really liked about it. The beach was beautiful and the weather was perfect.

The specialty restaurants were very good and the buffet was pretty good too. The lunch buffet at the Bloody Bay Restaurant was my favorite buffet.

I enjoyed the nightly shows and the daily activities at the pool were a lot of fun and they changed them up daily. My favorite was the bubble pool party.

The staff and service were fantastic. And the resort was very clean. All-in-all a great vacation. I would DEFINITELY go back!

I've been to a few resorts and this one is one of the best ones. Great service. Love the enthusiasm of the staff. I've been to two other Riu hotels and I have to say this one topped it. I loved the fact that the beach is right by the rooms, 1 min walk and you are on the beach. Most places it takes a good 10 min walk. Food was lovely. We went to Krystal (A la cart) twice. We liked it more than the other A la carts. There is a jerk hot right by the beach and every day at noon, best jerk chicken is available to you. We only saw a long line once.
The pools are very clean and nice. We are not "pool people" so we didn't hang by the pool but we noticed there was always something happening by the pool, foam party, pool games, bbq, paella, etc.
Room was very clean, similar to other Riu's (almost identical). We were on the third floor. which is not a big deal but there are no elevators, so if you don't like taking the stairs make sure you are on the main floor.
Over all we loved the place and we'll come back soon.

This is an all inclusive amazing beautiful hotel, with pool, buffet, restaurants, amazing staff, really good room service. Live music. Bars opened all the time, also with a bar in the pool. Very near to the beach. Rooms are spectacular. I've been there with my family, so young kids can go too. There is a spa, etiquette restaurants, books to borrow... Pure luxury. They also offer some shows at night.

All inclusive with the best beach suitable for all adult age couples and groups up to 50. Reliable food, accommodation and service. We have made multiple visits and entertained several groups on several occasions without incident. Kids are better served down the beach at the sister Riu Club resort. ..

Best beachfront on Bloody Bay! Probably the best in Negril area. Lots of space on the beach. White sand, turquoise water. Great service from friendly staff. Rooms are dated but clean and comfortable.

Absolutely love this place! The friendliest staff I've ever met. They sincerely want for you to be happy and have the experience you desire. This resort offers a wide variety of entertainment and activities. The food was excellent and the drinks abundant. A big shot out to Owen, O.J., and Lexy. You made our vacation most memorable. Thank you for sharing your culture and love.

Wow, what an amazing hotel! We celebrated our 30 year anniversary with 33 other guests and were very pleased with the whole staff and the accommodations! They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable throughout the whole weekend. Good food, great beach, clean rooms, and great hospitality, we couldn't have asked for more. Thank you Riu Palace Tropical Bay for making our stay exceptional!

This was the best hotel we ever stayed at. Great food, outstanding service, non stop entertainment. The buildings are old but well kept. The first swim bar I ever saw and the nicest beaches right down to the beautiful sunsets.

I stayed with my girlfriends at this resort and was just thrilled! I'd go back to tomorrow if I could. The one thing that just set this place apart is the genuine, sweet, wonderful staff. Going above and beyond for their guests! I was overly impressed with the entertainment staff. THEY WERE MAGNIFICENT! From Sweetie to Flex, Happy Feet to Chevron (who was perfect and outstanding in the Michael Jackson show) and all the other entertainment staff, you are all so good at your job and are just amazing! I will
Definitely be back and would recommended Riu Palace Tropical Bay over and over again!

Resort shows its age but still nice. Staff are super friendly. The highlight of this resort is not the pool but the beach which is very close to the rooms and restaurants. Food at buffet is above average for an all-inclusive resort. The Japanese restaurant is horrible. The "fusion" restaurant is just ok. The main complaint I have is that the beach doesn't have huts or umbrellas. You will need to go early and reserve chairs under the shade. Negril has one of the best beaches in the world and the water here is calm, clear and warm. You can snorkel right off the beach and will see a few fish, starfish, jellyfish, crabs, etc.

Very nice hotel. The people here are lovely, polite and very helpful. Extremely clean place; the cleaners come to your room about 4 times a day to see if you want it cleaned, which is good because at previous hotels I've been to you only get given 1 opportunity during the day for your room to be cleaned.
The room is a decent size so you have plenty of room for your luggage.
There is a range of delicious food (plenty of it) served in a buffet style. They also have a range of different restaurants in the hotel if you fancy something different.
Beautiful scenery around the hotel, with the sun setting right on the ocean.

I had the best time at Riu Palace! I never leave reviews but the service at this hotel is top notch. All the workers are super friendly and remember you by name. They constantly come up to you to make sure you're taken care of. The food is phenomenal. I stayed there for a week and liked every dish I had. I will definitely be returning to this resort in Negril!

I'm a native of the island and this was my very first time staying on a resort in Jamaica. I usually stay with family. This resort made me and my cousin feel like criminals in our country. After staying for 3 nights, we were made aware that there were some payment issues with our reservations. Without properly explaining to us what was going on, they demanded whatever money we had left on us after spending almost all our money while we were there. Deactivated our room keys so that we could not get in. Had 2 people escort us to the room to get whatever cash we had and demanded we give them our passports so that we cannot leave. This is illegal activity! I have never in my entire life felt the way these people made me feel. Never again will I spend a dime on any of these hotels in any country and would never recommend it. If you want to leave your vacation with your dignity still in tact, I advise you not to stay here. I travel the world and its a shame that my own place of birth treated me like this. So embarrassed. No apology was given.
The food sucks. My stomach was turning on the entire trip. If you've never had Jamaican food before, this will be a terrible example of it. It's a shame that my first resort experience was so awful.

Lets start with the fact that I wasn't on my best behaviour here, and I'm sorry to all the staff. The staff of this hotel is incredible, from the animation team to the security staff and everyone in between. The food is amazing, rooms are impeccably clean. Great views and incredible beach. Would come back if I didn't get blacklisted. 😅😤😳😒

We had a wonderful stay. If you are a person with normal expectations you will love it here. They are updating the hotel and painting it but so what. The staff is friendly. The food as great. So were the drinks. The room was great. Yes it smelled like the ocean but it's on a beach what do you expect. I don't get the negative reviews. Everything was wonderful and clean and safe. The beach and pool were amazing. There are a lot people trying to sell you stuff on the beach. Just don't make eye contact with them lol and they won't bother you in your beach chair or in the ocean. Most of the staff definitely worked in the hopes for tips it seemed, we tipped throughout our stay and the service and drinks got better and stronger than before. I would highly recommend this resort.

Friendly and accommodating staff! Great food! The Jamaican chicken is the best we ever had! The best beach on the island! Beautiful roomy rooms, not that we spent much time in our room. The resort is beautiful. We will be back!

The people are incredible, the food is out of this world amazing and there's nothing you have to question if you should eat it or not.

The beach is beautiful, the resort was as clean as a whistle, pillows, beds, service 10 out of 10. HOWEVER after coming from the beach we were in our room and had just removed out bathing suits...(yes naked)....all of a sudden the door opened, not ONE knock, theres my husband and i stark naked, while the guy that fills up the bar fridge said "oops" and continued into the room to fill up the fridge! REALLY? Not only did he NOT knock but he continued on doing what he came for.

I ran behind my poor husband who tried to cover us up with a pair of shorts, we were in such shock. Then the guy just left !

As you can see we were overwhelmed with the resort and how beautiful it was, just that one incident that put a damper on things.

We had issues upon arrival with our room and our luggage not being delivered. The phone and the safe box were not working. I called for maintenance and spent hours waiting for someone to come. Our luggage arrived hours later after calling a few times. The next day the manager gave us a free upgrade to a nicer suite however, the room was not ready when we arrived. The bed was not made and there was a new T.V. sitting on the floor in a box waiting to be installed. Again I made a few calls and someone finally came to give us new linens and install the T.V. The room had a sulfur smell the whole time we were there luckily we did not spend too much time in the room. The food was good, I especially enjoyed the Japanese restaurant. This location did not have a night club which was disappointing. A group of us stayed out late one night after a show and convinced the DJ to continue playing music. Other guests heard the music and came out to join us and we made our own night club out of it. The beach is clean but the hotel itself is a bit dated. All in all a good stay for the price.

This is a very average and quiet hotel/resort. The food is only authentic at the jerk Hut and I recommend tasting the hot sauces they are amazing. The staff on the beach and at the pool are amazing. If your going to party please think about going up the road this place is boring and lacks a vibrant youthfulness. It's good for just relaxing and strolling around but it's very limited when you want to get full exposure to the island and party into the late hours of the night. Again if your trying to chill it's perfect but don't expect anything unless you go out on an excursion or the pool dancing team trap you in adult game time.
