The food is great its a nice venue ive been their twice, but! The staff needs training. There was no greeting at the hostess stand (no one was there), i had to seat myself. I was waiting for someone, And i sat there for over half n hour, no one came over and ask me if i needed a drink or hand me a menu. When my friend came nearly a hour, thats when the service began. Poor customer service. Totally honest.
With Lobster out of season.. We managed to get some here. The lobster was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The best lobster meal both my husband and I ever had. Party in our mouth!
Menu options were diverse, food was ok. Main courses took some time in getting to my party of ten. The wait staff was helpful, friendly and efficient. DJ was amazing and kept the place jumping.
The roaches at the tables isn't pleasant, the server brings your food and it has a little insect in it, the food is awful and very overpriced. The managers are lacking!!! Please revamp management and get back to the chill out hut that was initially there. At this point i'd never travel back to Jamaica and eat at your place...Very disturbing!!!! NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL!!!!
I am definitely disappointed!!! I went to chill out last night February 20th for my hussy birthday and we ordered fired fish and it's my worse experience ever eating fish. The fish had no seasoning whatsoever, all they did was to throw vinegar all over it, the vinegar was so much you could see the fry fish sliding back and forth in it, that wasn't bad enough it's the managers who shocked me, i mean they care 0 about how we felt, not even wanted to change it. Another thing is that chill out prices are listed as Canadian dollar however they charge they same exchange as USD. How so??? You all need to ensure customers satisfaction whether international or local because we all spending the same money. You guys need to do better because we work hard and whatever we spend our monies on we should enjoy it! The hostess was really nice tho but besides that it's a mess!!!!
On our way to Montego Bay in 2011 my wife and I stopped at this seaside restaurant to grab a bite. We tried their pizza and it was a mistake. The pizza was hard as crackers and literally fell apart with every bite. The toppings fell off the slices as we lift them. We concluded that pizza was just not their forte.
The environment was awesome though. The outdoor setting by the sea was refreshing with the many thatch roof huts/gazebos along the shore. I wondered what it is like when it rains as there was no sufficiently covered areas for the customers to shelter. The gazebos would not provide enough shelter from the rain. We took a slow walk around the place and enjoyed its sheer beauty. It was breathtaking and you can't help but capture it all on camera. If you don't have a camera you'll regret it.
It's a nice, laid back place it's just sad that we didn't enjoy the pizza.
On our way from Montego Bay, we stopped and had jerk chicken, conch soup, and fried chicken with rice and peas. The setting was clean, and being by the sea, very breezy. We found the food to be good, so I can see a second visit in the future.
It was good. Meal was excellent. The last time I went was for a little birthday get together. My waitress was not sure about most things on the menu...but it was a great evening regardless. I encouraged her to get a daily briefing from the chef if she is not sure. She smiled and said "so true, thanks"
Awesome cocktails....chicken wings are a must
Nice view of the beach great dining
To start off on a positive note, the ambiance was great and the service provided was exceptional. The wait time did not exceed 5-10 minutes per course and the waitress was knowledgeable as well as courteous. In regards to the food, I am not sure if this was an off night but I ordered grilled shrimp with bammy while my partner had jerk BBQ chicken with mashed potatoes and cheesy fries. The only taste the shrimp had was that of burnt toast. The bammy was lack luster as I felt as though I was chewing on a piece of cardboard. I had a taste of the cheesy fries and there's not much that stood out, it was okay. The JERK bbq tasted like regular BBQ chicken and there was nothing superb about it. The garnish for the dishes were shredded lettuce covered in ranch dressing. The highpoint was the blended fruit juice which was just about amazing, I could taste all the fruits and it was not too sweet. This was an overall average meal but if you customer service driven, this is the place for you.
Food was great👌🏽👌🏽amazing scenery too.
Chill out hut has always been one of my favorite spots in that area. However, my last couple of experiences from February to last Saturday has been horrible. I work I mm the hospitality industry and it has always been one of my recommendation to foreigners. Now last Saturday I went to chillout hut to get some take out meal. There was first of all no host at the front to greet me or my spouse. A gentle who appeared to be a superior beckoned to a server to assist us. So I place my order with the server after which he asked that I come choose my fish. After choosing my fish I told him I want it roast with mash potato as my side order the size fish was a pound and quarter. I stood when he conveyed the info to the chef who seemed overwhelmed and like they had no passion for what they were doing. Especially the lady they all call 'mother'. So I waited over 30mins for meal. When it was said that it was ready it was a jerk fish not only that it was a smaller fish. One of the most disturbing thing was a server went out with a mash potato and came back with it and that's the one they wanted to give to me. Even after telling them I don't want it they conspired if I hadn't looked over it would be in my box as I was observing their non verbal ques. Then the lady blurted out ' hello hunu try no tek nuh mash potato ordah'. I decided to sit in my car and wait for it to be prepared as it would be a huge waste of time to come and not get what I want... After waiting another 40mins it was prepared and ready. It was obvious that it was hurriedly done.
I would never come back as fish hut which is close proximity service far surpass that. Alan not sure if I got that right did his best.
Service takes into consideration everything. What I got from the kitchen to the front of house was just nasty. Also servers and leaders at this restaurant needs proper training this is what I've noticed over time.
The food was good but the waiting time was longer than other places. The staff is friendly and welcoming.
We had a department dinner hosted here. The restaurant is located in front of the ocean so it has a spectacular atmosphere. The staff was friendly and efficient. They have a good menu selection for both food and drinks(alcoholic and non-alcoholic). The food was good.
Food was excellent and the ambience was relaxing. Breathtaking view of the sea.
Great place relax with friends the atmosphere is great and the staff friendly and helpful. Food is good too
Relaxing atmosphere to chill relax have a drink, fries, free wifi and music
Nice atmosphere but the food, drinks and service are lacking. Escovitch fish was overcooked and not well seasoned. Fried bammy was swimming in oil and my pina colada was a blend of synthetic ingredients. The only natural ingredient was the probably the ice.
The seafood is amazing and well prepared but the wait time can be improved.
