Everyone’s trying to save money on gas these days. Keep checking our page for tips for fuel-efficient driving, and watch the savings add up: 4. The more weight a vehicle carries, the more fuel it uses. Don't use your car as a mobile storeroom. Leave heavy items like tools and sports equipment at home when you don't need them on a trip. #boottogo #bestgaspricesinja

Service Your Vehicle Regularly, according to Manufacturer’s Instructions. A poorly tuned engine can use up to 50% more fuel and produces up to 50% more emissions than one that is running properly. #boottogo #bestgaspricesinja

Everyone’s trying to save money on gas these days. Keep checking our page for tips for fuel-efficient driving, and watch the savings add up: 2. Driving your car with only a small amount of fuel in the tank is not a good idea as you will be dragging sediment through your fuel system, which could result in a bill for hundreds if not thousands of dollars. #boottogo #bestgaspricesinja

Everyone’s trying to save money on gas these days. Keep checking our page for tips for fuel-efficient driving, and watch the savings add up: 1. Don’t be a lead foot. Putting the “pedal to the metal” wastes gas because the harder you accelerate, the more fuel is wasted. Press the accelerator pedal gently. Keep it steady. Dips in speed combined with spurts of acceleration can increase your fuel use by up to 20 percent #boottogo #bestgaspricesinja

    Tuesday Tips... #Everydollarcounts #Boot #Carcare

Be car care aware and perform these simple steps to improve fuel efficiency and save money.

    ...

    • Engine Performance: Keep your car properly tuned to improve gas mileage by an average of 4 percent. • Gas Cap: Damaged, loose or missing gas caps allow gas to vaporize into the air. • Air Filters: Replacing clogged air filters on older vehicles can improve fuel economy and will improve performance and acceleration on all vehicles. • Tire Pressure: Keep tires properly inflated and improve gas mileage by up to 3.3 percent. • Upgrade your motor oil: You can help improve your gas mileage by as much as 1–2% by upgrading the manufacturer’s recommended motor oil. For example, using 10W-30 motor oil in an engine designed to use 5W-30 can lower your gas mileage by 1–2%. Using 5W-30 in an engine designed for 5W-20 can lower your gas mileage by 1–1.5%.

In addition to vehicle maintenance, modifying driving habits, such as observing the speed limit and avoiding quick stops and starts, can also increase fuel efficiency. Consolidating trips, avoiding excessive idling and removing unnecessary items from the trunk are also easy ways to lower fuel consumption.
