Description

The St. John's Parish School, situated in the St. John's Compound is a long established institution catering largely to the needs of the surrounding residents. Long ago, during the period of the East India Company, a school was founded in the compound of St. John's Church and was being run for Eurasian children. No records were found as to how long the school was run as such. However, in 1967, the late Mrs. Kathleen deLima, wife of the late Mr. Alfred W. deLima, ex Dy. Chairman, Visakhapatnam Port Trust, started a school in the premises (to be run by the St. John's Parish Society) mainly to serve the needy children in the surrounding Fort and 1Town areas. The school is being managed by the Parish Committee. The school offers education in English medium in both ICSE and SSC (State) streams of education.
