Loyola academy (LA) is managed and administered by the members (Jesuits) of Andhra Jesuit Province, belonging to the Society of Jesus, an international catholic religious order. Loyola academy, degree and post graduate college as well as Loyola academy junior college were founded by Rev. Fr. T. Balaiah, S.J. in 1976 in Old Alwal, Secunderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India. This sprawling campus consists of about 135 acres of land. It is affiliated to the prestigious Osmania University. It was granted autonomous status in 1992 by the University Grants commission. Appreciating the achievements and qualitative pursuit of higher educational needs, UGC has awarded a rare status known as "College with Potential for Excellence" to this college. National Accreditation Council awarded, ‘A’ grade to Loyola Academy in recognition of its excellent contribution to the cause of higher education in 2005. ‘India Today’ also has rated for the third time and given number one status among the city colleges of Hyderabad for Science and Arts.
Streams offered here are arts, science and commerce at the undergrad level and at the postgraduate level, courses offered here are MCA, MSc and MBA. They have a number of extra-curricular activities on campus such as sports for both men and women. Thats not all, the college also offers placement opportunities.
Campus:
The campus of the Loyola Academy College is spread over an area of 135 acres of land. It also offers excellent library facility to its students which are in the area of 1234 Sq. Yrds. The library has a large collection of several books from the fields of Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics sections. The college also offers computer labs, canteen and play grounds for the students.
