I approached Julien for self-defense lessons, and signed up for 15 sessions with him, spread over 6 months or so. After careful assessment of my abilities, we trained in a very progressive and personalized manner, leveraging my strengths and fixing my weaknesses. Moreover, he would always give me the 'high-level' coaching view, framing every lesson within broader technical advice and principles that I can re-apply in different contexts.
In short, he offered me what no amount of youtube videos or generic gym PT can offer : continuous high-quality customization. I spent 3 weeks with Julien and from the beginning he recognized my weak spots and in each session he focused on these weaknesses and put together an individual training program. After a short time I felt better with my body, the back pain caused by my scoliosis disappeared and from hour to hour I could build up more strength. Julien is a dedicated and friendly trainer. Very flexible and focuses on your interests. Makes training interesting but also challenges. Worked on my conditioning and technique for Muay Thai, as well on posture and balance issues. Has a wealth of experience and practical training philosophy. Highly recommend if your in Bali and want to get back in shape and also learn about ways to improve your fitness and health.
Excellent trainer that motivates and push you during the sessions. And maybe most important, he teaches you exercises and the theory behind them for you to increase the quality of your sessions when you train alone. Very dedicated to his profession. I highly recommend Julien.
