"Ο Δήμος Παιονίας είναι δήμος της Περιφέρειας Κεντρικής Μακεδονίας που συστάθηκε με το Πρόγραμμα Καλλικράτης. Προέκυψε από την συνένωση των προϋπαρχόντων δήμων Αξιούπολης , Ευρωπού, Πολυκάστρου και Γουμένισσας και της Κοινότητας Λιβαδίων. Η έκταση του νέου Δήμου είναι 923,7 τ.χλμ και ο μόνιμος πληθυσμός του 28.493 κάτοικοι, σύμφωνα με την απογραφή του 2011. Έδρα του νέου δήμου ορίστηκε το Πολύκαστρο και ιστορική έδρα η Γουμένισσα".
"The Municipality of Paionia (Paeonia) in Central Macedonia was established by the ‘Kallikrates’ Administrational Reform of Greek local governance. Resulted from the combination of pre-existing municipalities of Axioupolis, Evropos, Polykastro, Goumenissa and the community of Livadia. The area of the new municipality is 923.7 km ² and the population is 28.493 permanent inhabitants, according to the 2011 census. The civic centre and capital of the new municipality is Polykastro whereas the historical seat is the town of Goumenissa".
