Description

The agreement creating the Pasteur Institute of Guadeloupe was signed October 4, 1948 by the Prefect of Guadeloupe and the Director of the Institut Pasteur. Today, the Pasteur Institute of Guadeloupe employs almost 60 people and plays a major role in research, teaching, training, & Public Health in Caribbean. Current activities include: (i) A Research Laboratory on Tuberculosis and Mycobacteria - a World Health Organization designated Supranational TB Reference Laboratory (ii) Laboratory of Hygiene & the Environment - a modern COFRAC accredited laboratory active in sanitary control (iii) Laboratory of Medical Biology (iv) A vaccination center, and (v) A Laboratory on Emerging Diseases.
