  Helpful checkout staff. Most of the floor staff are also helpful, there was one who really found answering questions too much trouble. Range of goods and prices as one would expect. Free parking is an advantage.

  Thanks to Jan and Dev, who could not have been more courteous and helpful in their determination to overcome a tricky DIY problem with a home shower. The part was ordered, fixed and fitted in lightening speed. Well Done B & Q for hiring efficient staff.

  Overcharged for clearance items. Noticed when I got home so returned them next day and asked for refund or credit note. I was told I couldn't exchange or credit as they were non-refundable ("store specific policy") due to being clearance items. But the sticker on items showed clearance price, the receipt showed I'd been overcharged at the till. The young female member of staff was not fit to be in a customer facing position, the young male sales advisor was no better (interferred and tried to bully me out of my rightful exchange), finally the manageress was nearly as bad, once she'd finally finished her lunch and eventually turned up. I stood my ground, remained polite, finally got my "45 days no quibble refund" as advertised on the sales receipt) but only after digging in my heels and refusing to walk away empty handed. Wasted over half an hour of my time, arguing the injustice and all over a few pounds. Sad! You pay peanuts, you get monkeys. Sort it out B&Q Barnstaple. Align your products with the tills, educate some of your staff or get better ones.

  I went into your Barnstaple store on the 27th July hoping to find a match for some laminate flooring that had been purchased some 18 months previous. I had no joy finding a match and so asked for assistance. The assistance I got from a guy called Andy was amazing. He went out of his way to get me what I needed. It really did make my day to see someone ,who takes their job and customer service, to such a high standard. Than you Andy

  Very helpful team, nothing is to much trouble. Very knowledgeable about products and services available. High regard for the kitchen and bathroom design and sales team. Excellent parking,easy to find just on the edge of town.

  Have used this B&Q on a number of occasions. Its a decent size and you should be able to find most everything you need here
