A quiet resort with the surf continually pounding the shore in the background. Great for kite-surfing or just relaxing.
I think I stayed here 33 years ago and it was a highlight of my childhood! Looks like it has been refurbished since then.
Great location if you want to be hidden, which were my intentions when I stayed here........It's affordable, the staff is helpful and friendly, and its confortable! I'll stay here again!
Stayed here for 5 days during Crop Over and loved loved loved it. It is off the beaten path so be prepared to pay a lot for taxis if you didn't rent a car. All the rooms face the ocean. Breakfast and Internet are free. And it was much cheaper then booking a chain hotel.
This place was a hidden gem we coincidentally discovered after talking with a couple staying there while walking on the beautiful Long Beach just north along the coast from the apartments. Very nice rooms with fridge, fans etc. but the best thing about this place was more isolated (calm) location and the proximity to and view from the room towards the ocean. And always with a breeze since it is on the windy side of the island. I liked that they had planted grass almost down to the water so it was a sand free environment just near the sea, but a beach 100 feet/30 meter away to swim from. Surfwaves on the cliffs just outside and kite&wavesurfing 20 minutes walking along the beach. This place is great for those who dont necessarily need or want to live in a "all-inclusive-resort" bubble where everything is shiny and "perfect" but more relaxed, chilled out and calm vacation, although there were movienights and parties a couple of nights. Oistins is only a short taxiride away for dancing all night long :) The staff also deserves feedback for being very serviceminded and caring and even drove us out to the kitespot one day we needed some help. I would not recommend Long Beach for learning to kitesurf, but if you can kite, its heaps of fun riding the waves!
