I had my bowling ball in my carry on and they wanted to throw it out or have me check it. Which meant going back out of immigration (which you cant) and wait in another 2 hour line. They had no reason other than it was heavy even though it would fit under the seat in front of me. The supervisor was just on a power trip for no good reason. She should be fired and this airport is trash. They did last call for our flight before boarding time even started. Honestly I doubt I would ever go back to barbados just due to this trash airport

There's pretty high volume considering the size of the airport and staff but they get the job done well still. Always happy to arrive and sad to leave. There's the added benefit of the Caribbean sky during the day or night which makes for a beautiful backdrop. Inside the airport you can purchase roti's to eat among other foods. There's also the usual duty free shop - for alcohol or tobacco - cologne and accessories shops and gift shops.

A complete shambles ! 4th time of going to this airport and it is not getting any better ! I have given it one star as there isn’t an option of giving a negative score. On arrival it took our party over 90 minuets to get through customs bearing in mind we had just got off a 9 hour flight, the staff are rude and unfriendly On leaving the island it took just over 2 hours to drop off bags and again through customs again staff were so rude and throwing peoples personal things through the scanners ! Upgraded passengers were not given any priority and were complaining which I absolutely agree with as they paid extra to avoid the shambles we all got caught up in I am sorry to say that I cannot put up with the stress of this airport again and will not return in any foreseeable future. It’s a bad start and a bad end to a holiday

On arrival from Manchester on the 7th of January my first bag arrived ripped open followed by my belongings on the conveyor belt. Both myself and the red cap Peter had to be chasing behind my spilled belongs. Not jicd ancvi will be tiling a claim for my missing stuff. (Children clothing). Then customs was not too bad but she showed no sympathy whatsoever for me. As a Bajan I am shocked and disappointed.

Breathe that tropical air. I did not want to leave this island. I'm also editing my post to include this image of the Taxi Fares from the airport to many places on the island. It's very easy to estimate your fare, base on knowing your destinations address.

The security staff at this airport let this beautiful country down. They are rude asked personal and ridiculous questions and use their position to carry out searches of your luggage just to see what you have that they can take away for themselves. On entering the island i was questioned about my daughter who was travelling with us and is over 18 i was asked if im sure she is my daughter err hello
..since when did this become a security question?? We were then asked about our watches we were wearing as4 they were the same he also asked to look at my husbands watch!!!! Again does this form part of ur security questions???
The search of my suitcase was a waste of time as an infant would have done a better job

Customer service very poor in this airport and not a good first impression

Nice size airport. Check in with Tui was easy and security only took 10 mins even though the que was long. Once though there are places to eat and drink which i didnt use so can't comment on how good they are. It has nice little shops which are set out well. Staff seemed ok. Toilets were clean and working.Que for the womens. Upstairs has a private lounge. Drop off was easy outside. Nextdoor is the concorde experience.

Unfriendly staff at this airport. Should think about getting new staff to work the coffee shop near gate 12. Bad attitudes!

Love Barbados but would think twice about coming back again unless they sort this airport out. We bought my parents with us who are in their 80s and had booked special assistance for them as they have trouble standing for long periods. It was a nightmare as we were not able to go with them through passport control so they were waiting over an hour for us in the baggage area due to the ridicules time it took us to get through. Thinking they were being helpful they told the wheelchair lads that they could manage from there not realizing that they would have to que again to have luggage checked. I asked if they could go down the wheelchair lane but was told no because they had let their wheelchairs go. After complaining to customers service there they did come and find us in the que and said they could go down that lane but we were unable to go with them so they had to manage their luggage themselves. This has really put them off going anywhere again. Thank you very much Barbados Airport absolutely disgusted with your level of service.

The airport looks nice as you land, but rather unfinished at the front. Quite disappointing.

Really doesnt make too much sense to have outdoor ticket counters in the west Indian heat. Not to mention the rain impact. Also having outdoor seating (all before security) counterproductive. Might be the only airport in the Caribbean that still has this setup. Curacao did away with this year's ago. Passengers don't want to be hot an sweaty waiting to check in and don't want to be drenched from rain either. Not even neighboring st vincent which is not a wealthy country at all, there airport is set up better than BGI. THE MONEY EXCHANGE BEFORE LEAVING THE BAGGAGE AREA HAS TO BE SOME OF THE STUPIDEST INDIVIDUALS ON EARTH WORKING THEIR. SEEK ANOTHER PLACE!

    Small airport trying there best.

Clean and lot of duty free shops before leaving.
Nice place outside to sit and relax before taking the plane.

Line for check in can be long as they don't use the latest technology.

Nice airport, however, many of the staff come off as rude and lazy. Don't expect for any lines to move quickly. Customer service is not a priority here.

Clean airport, but very small. Be prepared to wait at least an hour or more to check into customs... absolutely ridiculous.. They have 20 or more custom stations but have 4 open... We came here durning Christmas the busiest time for tourism, and it took us 2 hours just to get through customs.. For a country that relies on tourism to survive, the wait should be no more then 20 minutes. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Women working security lines were extremely rude. Took my husbands lighter AFTER it came out of the bins as he was putting it in his pocket and looked trough his cigarettes AFTER it came through as well. Had a lighter in my bag that went through and nothing said to me. Extremely rude women throughout security, if you don't want to deal with people don't work at the airport!
