  Summer 2018 lessons are now in the books. Congrats to everyone, young and ‘young at heart’ who took part in our intensive swim sessions. A special shout out to Adult swimmers who ‘took the plunge’ this summer. Lily, Jemima, Karen, Doreen and Andrea, we are so proud of you! A heartfelt thank you to Marian Egel and Placid Pools for hosting and maintaining the pool. Anguilla Swims resumes its weekly schedule in October.

  Adult Learn To Swim issue:

  “I’m uncomfortable wearing a swimsuit in public”.

  This is a tough one, because while I know in my heart that fit bottoms come in every single shape and size, I also know that so many of us have a whole lotta feeeeelings around wearing a bathing suit. All I can offer you is this: You deserve to be there. You have the right to show up at the pool, or walk into the sea and do your workout. Nobody’s workout — no matter how fit or fast they might seem —... is more important than yours. NOBODY’S. If it helps, ask a friend to join you as you get in, even if they aren’t going to swim. Or, wear a pair of yoga capries and a T-shirt if this makes you more comfortable.

  Remember, the more you go, the more comfortable you’ll feel. And, my darling, nobody is judging you the way you’re judging you. Guaranteed.
